system does not recognzie 4071 DMM

I have two PXI 1010 chassis daisychained using MXI 4. I have installed a 4071 DMM in the second chaissis. The system is not recognizing the board as being in the system. The drivers have been installed. I don't see the board listed in Max. When I try to run the soft front panel is says there is no device found. Other boards in the second chassis are recognzied and do function. I have others systems with the same configuration that work. This was accomplished with the help of field rep and conversations with NI. Can someone help?

Thanks

Hello Rick,

First of all, let me make sure that I understand your setup correctly.  You have two PXI 1010 chassis daisy-chained together.  Does the first chassis have a controller, or is it connected to a desktop computer through another MXI connection?

Also, let's try to isolate the issue a bit more.  Please answer the following questions:

1.  Is the 4071 recognized if you swap it to a different slot in the same chassis?
2.  Is it recognized if you place it in the first chassis?
3.  Is it recognized if you place it in either the first or second PXI chassis in one of your identical systems?
4.  What version of the NI-DMM driver do you have installed on the host computer?

If the answer to question number 4 is anything other than NI-DMM 2.6, please download and install this version.  If you're still having trouble, hopefully the additional information I've asked for will help us to narrow down the problem.

Best regards,
