Unable to load FP instrument

Hi everybody,
When I tried to load an intrument in my Labwindows environement (.fp file), nothing occurs. I use Labwindow 7.0, is it due my old Labwindows version?
Is there somewhere a viewer for reading .fp file?
Thanks in advance for your answers

Hello,

Join your .fp file please, I would be able to test it under different versions of LabWindows/CVI. What is the origin of this .fp file? Which operating system do you use?

Hi Mathieu,

See my joined fp file downloaded on Rohde and Schwarz, I work on windows 2000 sp4, my Labwindows version is 7.0.0 (393).
Thanks in advance,

Olivier

Hello Olivier,

I reproduce your problem, I can't load the instrument file with CVI7.0, but I can do it with upper versions (I tried it with 7.1 and 8.0). I didn't find any mention about compatibility trouble of Rodes&Shwartz drivers. I tried to edit the .fp file under 7.1, saving it under an other name, and to load the modified .fp under 7.0, but without success.

So, you should try to contact Rodhes&Swartz to know if they get any feedback about this problem, and if they have an other version of their driver, who works with CVI7.0. You can also try to command your instrument through IVI drivers.

Or you can upgrade your version of LabWindowsCVI; you will find an evaluation copy of LW/CVI8.0 here: http://www.ni.com/lwcvi/

I am going to make other tests, I will inform you of any interesting discovery about this.

Thanks Mathieu for your help,
I have contacted Rohde & Schwarz support last week but I have not anwers
a this time. I have no problem for sending command to this instrument but  fp file is more easier than the .doc file,
because I can find and fill all functions very fast and the help on function is more clear, It's very important for me to save time.

The only one solution recommended by NI is to upgrade my Labwindows\CVI form 7.0.0 to 7.1. No Patch is available, and no solution is possible with the 7.0.0.
I've to pay for upgrade!!!!!! This is incredible!!!
