Hello,
I am trying to port my GPIB software from Solaris to Linux and have problem because there is not still the 'ibconf'
utility under Linux (rehate ws 4). MyGPIB package is NI4882-beta-2.5.1b1.
I use ibconf mainly to give names to my board or to my devices, and I did not found any other solution to replace the
this
utility. It seems that ibconf configures /etc/gpibrc, but
this file is not an ASCII file, therefore can not be edited
Thefefore if someone as a workaround to ibconf, I 'll appreciate a lot.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I don't find workaround for your problem but you should try another installation on Linux. Is the extension of other files can't be edited ?

Hi,
Is there a reason for having this version of driver? why not the 488 2.5? The version 2.5 is supported by your distribution.
You will have more informations at this link: http://www.ni.com/linux/gpib.htm

Hi Manuel,
Thanks for your answer. In fact I tried already the NI488-2.5.1f0 as well (the official release delivered with LV8.6), but I have
still the same question about 'ibconf' utility missing.
Best regards.
