I need to use a PXI-5411 under LabVIEW RT, and need access to a RLP manual.

The PXI-5411 does not support register level programming (RLP) and is not supported under LabVIEW Real-Time. However, for a list of our PXI hardware that is supported under LabVIEW Real-Time, please see the link below:

What PXI Hardware and Accessories are Supported in LabVIEW Real-Time 7.0?

I hope this helps!

Well - no, it doesn't help. 😉

I have an existing test system that uses the 5411 arb waveform generator. I need to port the test system to RT and need to talk to the card. I've been told there is some limited functionality available under NI-DAQ (but I can't find it). I just finished a VISA driver for a 3rd party card so I can use it under RT, and would like to get either a RLP or VISA driver going for the 5411. Any technical docs would be appreciated.

The Measurement Hardware DDK provides all of the documentation and examples which we have for RLP. It contains no documentation on our Signal Sources, including the NI 5411, because they do not support RLP.

You mentioned using NI-DAQ to program your instrument to work with LabVIEW RT. This method is used to program our modular instruments which are supported with LabVIEW RT, since LabVIEW RT cannot support their specific IVI drivers which offer optimum functionality. However, as listed on the web page linked in my first response, the NI 5411 is not one of the modular instruments supported with LabVIEW RT. So this method will not work using the NI 5411.

Unfortunately, it seems that you will need to find an alternative way to set up
your system since none of our Signal Sources can be used with LabVIEW RT. Please let us know if we can assist you further as you consider how to set up your system. For specific questions on setting up your system, I would recommend contacting us for phone support via www.ni.com/support.

Best wishes on your system.

OK, thanks for the explanation. I will have to change direction.
