NI MAX will communicate with the device. Using query or writing to the device to get its ID all work and show the same output string.

Just to be sure, you do have NI 488.2 and NI VISA drivers installed, correct?

That is correct. I used NI 488.2 to communicate with it and it was communicating.

Have you tried running the start measurement subVI on it's own, to see if you're able to change some of the variables to get the VISA write to work? When you run that subVI, does it display any error in the error out window?

It shows a timeout error, but my lab is getting a new digital analyzer soon and my advisor is telling me to wait for that. Hopefully the newer equipment with communicate with labview better. Thanks for all the help.
