We are looking for a cost-effective, PC based, data acquisition-signal
processing-display system for automating one of our product testing
routines. It needs to have a simple user interface for the factory
operators. Our plan is to evaluate one such system and if satisfactory, we
will buy multiple units for equipping our factory floors located overseas.
In one of such test stations, there will be upto 2 analog input channels
with signal range upto +/- 10V, 0- 500 Hz. The 2 channels might have a
common ground (single ended). The signal bursts in these channels (that
comes from opto reflective position sensors) last for upto 5 seconds or
less
(typical values) during each sample testing. We may need to tes
t 1 sample
every 2 minutes.
What we need is to acquire the signals (simultaneously in 2 channels) for 1
second or so (triggered manually and to be automated in future), window
them
suitably, perform an FFT on them and display the results (the frequency
content, damping etc) on a screen which can be printed out along with a
product (sample #) description. We need to have a frequency resolution of
upto 0.01 Hz.
