how to change the sample rate when using a NI-USB 9237 DAQ

I am using a NI-USB 9237 DAQ to measure strain. The one thing I cannot do is change the sample rate. I believe this daq uses a 1.6kS/s sample rate at its slowest sampling rate. Is there any way to change that or how can I only store samples at various intervals. I would like to run an hour strain test, right now after approximately 45 seconds I will have exceeded the storage capicty for importing the data into excel.

thanks

HS

Hey Harry,

While Stefan is absolutely right, if you're stuck on Excel for this issue, you could always decimate your data.  A good example of this can be seen using the LabVIEW Example Finder.  If you navigate to the search tab, and type "decimate" into the search field, the VI "Continuous Decimating.vi" should be seen.  This way, you can control the amount of data sent to Excel.
