Dear all
I have a NI9234 board and I know that it reads sound too from a Microphone.
Anyone has experience using this board with Bruel & Kjaer microphones?
I have a microphone 4190 with a preamplifier 2669, if someone knows how to connect it?
Best regards

You need a cable to connect the LEMO 1B connector of the preamp to the BNC input of the 9234.

Hu Doug
Thanks for Your answear.
If I understand we get the output signal from 2 pins of the LEMO 1b connector right?
I read that this preamplifier needs a polarization power (bipolar or unipolar) with this cable we will get the readings directly to the microphone?
Best regards

You would have to supply your own excitation voltage as the 9234 IEPE will not power that sensor chain - sorry my original post was incorrect. To use the 9234, you will have to supply your own signal conditioning to power the 4190 mic/2669 preamp, or you can use a different, IEPE compliant, sensor to perform the measurement.

Hi Doug
Thanks again for your help.
Can you please help understand about " IEPE compliant, sensor to perform the measurement".
Can you tell what microphones are similar that works directly with NI9234?
Best regards

If you like B&K microphones, look at the 4189-H-041 to see if it meets your needs. It is a prepolarized mic with input type = CCLD IEPE. If you want to look at other options, you can visit ni.com/sensors (click on Acoustic Sensors) and select microphone that best fits your needs.
Refer to the document How to Choose a Microphone for Sound Measurements for a quick primer on choosing a microphone for your application.
