Dynamically Retrieve Real Time Target Directory and INI File

Overview

This example demonstrates how to retrieve a list of directories and single files from a real-time target using FTP protocol.

Description

This program shows how to dynamically retrieve the contents ("FTP Directory Listing.vi") of your Real Time Target. After getting the directory list the example can also retrieve the contents of the "ni-rt.ini" file or any other file and save it to the host machine using the "FTP Retrieve Multiple.vi". The "FTP Retrieve Multiple.vi", can retrieve any file stored on your Real Time Target.

Note: On newer NI Linux Real-Time targets you need to install Legacy FTP Server in order to use this example.

Requirements

 Software

• LabVIEW Full or Professional Development System 2012 (or compatible)
• LabVIEW Real-Time Module 2012 (or compatible) for target application
  

 Hardware

• NI Real-Time target (e.g. 9024 or compatible)
  

Steps to Implement or Execute Code

1. Download and extract the attached file "Retrieve List of Directories and files using FTP LV2012 NIVerified.vi"
2. Open VI and follow the instructions in Front Panel and Block Diagram and run the program.
