This example demonstrates how to complete an External Calibration for the NI-9207.
An External Calibration is different from a Self-Calibration. The Self-Calibration is useful when moving your device(s) to a new environment to account for a different ambient temperature. However, it does not replace an External Calibration, which is more accurate and it is intended to be completed every 1-2 years.
If you decide to calibrate your NI-9207 device manually, first become familiar with the NI-9207 Calibration Procedure, then to complete the calibration, you can use NI-DAQmx VIs to create a calibration session, calibrate known voltage values and close the session. This VI uses these DAQmx VIs, since the NI-9207 is available as a selection for these VIs.
If you would like to calibrate a different device manually, you need to refer to its Calibration Procedure manual. If the DAQmx Calibration VIs support your device(s), you can follow an algorithm similar to this example to create your own Calibration VI.
