As part of a large overall project to repair and upgrade the UT
Arlington supersonic wind tunnel, a new program was created to maintain
a constant stagnation pressure in the plenum chamber upstream of the
test section. The program was written in a LabVIEW environment, and can
be applied to other wind tunnels with very few changes having to be
made. The details behind this PI control program and its corresponding
simulation program are shown in AIAA paper 2008-852, available on aiaa.org or arc.uta.edu.
The simulation and a basic version of the program are available for
download below. It is essential to thoroughly read the AIAA paper to
understand how to use the simulation program properly to determine
suitable PI control values.
