CAN controller in FRC 2010?

Hello there !

                 I would like to know if CAN module  related to CAN BUS technology is going to be used in the 2010 FIRST competition? If yes, will it be used  for replacing PWM interface potentially using a ribbon cable between CRIO and a special purpose module to wire up drives/sensors/actuators/gyro/encoders? Is this a fair assumptions? Any insight on this subject will be very much appreciated.

As you are probably aware there isn't a whole lot we can say about items that will be part of the KOP, but I will do my best to address your questions.

The CAN module for cRIO (NI 9152/3) will not be used for FRC 2010.  FIRST is still exploring the other ways to expose CAN functionality.
