FTC Tool kit Instalation Problem

When I try to install the 2010 FTC Tool kit I get an error message stating that the 2009 Tool kit must be installed first. We are a rookie team and thus do not have the 2009 tool kit and I can not find it anywhere to down load.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting National Instruments.  The error message that you are seeing should state that you need LabVIEW 2009 installed on your machine.  This is the new version of LabVIEW that we are using as a base for the FTC software this year.  The FTC software package consists of LabVIEW 2009, the NXT Module, and the FTC Toolkit.  So the toolkit will be one of the last things that you go to install.

The entire package can be found on our website: 2010 FTC Software Package.

Please let me know if you have any further questions installing the software and I will be happy to assist you.  Have a great day!

Thanks!

The Labview that came in the FTC kit has been installed and is running and registered.  I have the students doing some of the tutorials from the NI website until I can get the toolkit to work.  Is there a certain location I need to save the toolkit to so it will recognize that Labview has been installed?

Hello,

What Operating System are you using for this system?

Right now you have installed LabVIEW 2009 and the NXT Module but when we go to install the FTC Toolkit it throws this error correct?

It is possible if we do not install the software in the correct order that we could run into the issues that you are seeing. The best way to know that you are running through the correct install process is the instructions in the FTC Release Notes.

If you are still seeing these errors after running through these instructions it may be a good idea to attach some screenshots of the error you are seeing as well as the National Instruments Software that is installed on your machine.  With this information we can help troubleshoot the issue further.  I hope this helps!

Thanks!
