I am a member of Team 79 Robotics Team and I am the new Head Software person for the team and I dont have the correct "serial number" to activate Vision on this software. Is it possible to get the correct serial numbers? Please let me know.

Hello Tori,
Thank you for contacting National Instruments! Can you verify that you are trying to activate NI Vision FRC and not just NI Vision? Only the FRC version should be activated with the serial number that you have. Check out the Activation LabVIEW for FIRST Participants document to verify that your License Manager shows the correct activation.
Please let me know if you have any further questions on this issue and I will be happy to assist you. If this does not solve the issue please reply back with screenshots of what your License Manager looks like. I hope this helps! Have a great day!
Thanks!

Even if I was downloading the regular LabView or FRC it still wouldnt work ive tried the verification codes that were sent to me and so far none of them work, for example ive tried
M71X52962
L12R86755
and even the one from last year and it still wont work!
I need this ASAP because IRI is coming up and I have to check the software to see if it links up to the robot still. We had trouble with the robot last competition and it was mechanical/software related and we need this serial number.

Hello,
Can you post me a screenshot of what your License Manager looks like? In order to get LabVIEW FRC working I would recommend that you only install LabVIEW FRC on the machine. There may be issues if you have LabVIEW 8.5.1 installed and then try to install LabVIEW FRC.
The FRC License should allow you to activate NI Vision FRC. If the License Manager is set up correctly but the license still is not working we will attempt to activate the software another way.
It is possible that with the regular LabVIEW License you don't have a License for the Vision Software. However if you are having issues with that please post in the regular LabVIEW forums.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Thanks!

do you want me to uninstall 8.2?
i dont really understand.
sorry.
this is a very confusing problem.
Ive uninstalled LabView 8.5 once because it didnt even work (and i when i mean work i mean it wouldnt let me open it at all!!)
then ive tried putting in different serial codes but they didnt work. this was happening even BEFORE I installed FRC.

Hello,
You do not need to uninstall LabVIEW 8.2. The only issues that can really occur are with LabVIEW 8.5 or 8.5.1.
From what it looks like you are trying to activate the full version of NI Vision 8.6 with your full version serial number. Are you trying to utilize the Vision capabilities of FRC? If that is the case you should not need to activate the full version of NI Vision, just NI Vision FRC. This screenshot is how everything should look in your License Manager when everything is activated correctly:
I also realized that my link my previous post did not copy over correctly. Please try this link to Activating LabVIEW for FIRST Participants. This gives detailed instructions on how to properly activate the LabVIEW FRC software including Vision.
If you are trying to achieve the full capabilities of NI Vision and not FRC then it would be best for you to contact regular National Instruments support either on the forums from my previous post or through Phone Support (1-866-275-6964 Keep in mind that phone support is not available for FIRST related questions during the off season).
Please let me know if you are still unable to activate LabVIEW FRC and I will be happy to assist you.
Thanks!
