Today, LabVIEW prompted me to install update 2.1. I don't see any reference to it in NI's FIRST community or on FIRST's site.
First, is this update legitamite? Second, where do I find what changed?

Yes, It's legitimate, and you find out here,

Is there an easy way to find a similar link for future updates, rather then knowing the magic combination of 30 characters in the link? For example, can the link be put on the update page?
None of those changes seem related to the fpga, why did the image increment from v19 to v20?
It seems that no changes are needed for the users code, this update should be transparent, is that correct? (although teams may want to remove the gyro close in teleop in their existing template).
Can this update be installed immediately for c++ and java, or should people wait for a corresponding c++ and java update? If the later, could that be put on the update page?

We will be adding a link to the "what's changed" info from the update page.
The incement from v19 to v20 is because we had to edit part of the driver that does not involve the FPGA, but does change the overall cRIO image, and is needed by all teams.
It should be transparent to user code - except for the default Gyro gain - that may affect user code.
This update can be installed immediately for C++ and Java. A corresponding C++ and Java update is not needed. I spoke too soon - you will need an update for Java, since it checks against the "v20" cRIO image version.
This update is mandatory for all teams regardless of your programming language.
