NI Bob Are you Bob Zimmer of FRC mastery? If so please read

I am trying to go through all of your tip jars this summer and get a handle on Labview for FRC.  The videos are excellent but it seems that some are outdated and thus of lesser use.  In particular, I just went through the one entitled FRC walkthrough.  In it you go to the robot main vi, open it and make some modifications in order to put a limit switch on the robot.   All is well except that the program that you modify is very different from the one that appears when I select robot main vi. from the FRC robot project.  Could yours be from the 2009 season and mine from the 2010 season?   Also, you never indicate where on the robot the limit switch is connected (I/O 1 of the sidecar?).  I still tried to copy what you did on the video but when I try to run the program it will not run due to errors.

Hello Richard,

I am not Bob Zimmer (I believe you mean Ben Zimmer).  I do know that Ben Zimmer is working with us to continually work on revamping and creating new tip jars as we move forward.  Are you sure that you are looking at the correct videos?  When I went to go look at the video it does appear to be FRC 2010 (the Getting Started Window confirms this).  However, I did notice that the original FRC Walkthrough was released prior to the updates being released this year.

Looking again, Ben made another FRC Walkthrough 2.0 with the January updates.  This can be found here: http://frcmastery.com/try-me/frc-walkthrough-2-0/

Can you make sure that this is the video you are watching as opposed to the original?

Please let us know if you have any further questions!

Thanks!

Bob, Ben, Ok I got it wrong. Ben's tip jars are quite good however and

since I must get this LAbview stuff under my belt over the summer (no time

during the school year) his stuff seems to be the best resource. It is

nice to know that someone with some knowledge is still reading the forum and

might be helpful.

Rich
