Programming FRC Robots with Ni cRIO controller and LabVIEW

The FIRST Community website indicates additional tutorials will be available in August on programming the

Ni cRIO controller with LabVIEW. I've gone through the introductory LabVIEW tutorials but haven't as yet seen

any additional tutorials showing programming with LabVIEW connected to Ni cRIO controllers. Is there a link

I have missed?

Hello bonbb77,

Thank you for posting this question. You are correct that NI indicated there would be training material available for the FRC Toolkit and CompactRIO in August. Unfortunately we have been unable to meet this deadline and I offer our sincerest apologies.

There are many factors that contribute to our ability to develop these tutorials the most important of which is access to the hardware software that will be included in the Kit of Parts. As you may be aware FIRST is currently assessing what teams will be participating in Beta testing. The software to be shipped to these teams is its final stages of internal testing, and we did not want to create tutorials with software that may be significantly different from what Beta teams will be using. This being said we are currently in the process of creating the content for these tutorials. You should expect this content to follow the same format as the Getting Started with LabVIEW Training Modules, and we are planning a release date in late September.

If you have any questions about the FRC toolkit please post them. Our support team has first hand experience with using all of the APIs that will be included with LabVIEW and the KOP, and they are more than willing to share knowledge and experience they have.

Warm Regards,

Mark Black

There will be some videos released later this week or early next week, but these will not be the last. If you have not already please take a look at the video Joystick Motor Control in 10 minutes.
