Sharing VI between dashboard and robot project

I have a VI that I am using in both the dashboard and the robot project. Currently, when I open the dashboard project, it asks me to save the shared vi because the VI has been recompiled. If I close the dashboard project and open the Robot project, it recompiles it again. Is there any way to stop this?

Unfortunately, no, you can't avoid this, although it's been requested.  Whenever you open a VI on a different platform (Windows or VxWorks, in your case), it is recompiled.
