I am a student participating in FRC and am trying to download labview. My trouble occurs when it comes time to activate. I'm pretty sure my problem does not have to do with the (.txt) issue. This is because when I was reading the "Activating LabVIEW Evaluation for FIRST Participants" page, I noticed that when I view Development Systems (Programs»National Instruments»NI License Manager), the FIRST robotics copmetion box that is shown of the help page does not appear for me. Whether this is or isnt the problem, I need help activating.

Is there any reason why this is not a reply tohttp://decibel.ni.com/content/thread/1663?tstart=0Activation of LabView *STILL* not working?
"If you still cannot sucessfully activate, open the NI License Manager from the Windows start menu (Start»Programs»National Instruments»NI License Manager). Expand the Local Licenses section of the configuration tree and then expand the LabVIEW 8.5.1 section. Under LabVIEW 8.5.1, expand the Development System section. You should see a list of development systems.
Make sure that you have a green box next to the FIRST Robotics Competition entry. If not, right-click on the FIRST Robotics competition entry and select Activate. You should be able to complete the following activation steps and activate over the internet with the serial number specified on the FIRST activation page (L12R86754). A fully featured activated product will have a green box next to it. An evaulation version will have a yellow box."

I have tried this, but for me, the First Robotics Competition box does not show up. Why might this be?

Hi,
If you don't see the First Robotics Competition box, it is mostly the case that the license manager is not seeing the *.lic file. You need to make sure it is renamed from *.txt to *.lic.
