What's an encoder's maximum rate?

Hi, I'm a newbie and I'm wondering, what's the maximum rate of an encoder, and if possible, how do you find the maximum rate?

For encoders, you can measure at 38,314 pulses per second maximum. Unlike the past, the decoding is independent so you can run them all at the max rate.
