1757-FFLD VCRs

The Allen-Bradley 1757-FFLD (HSE/H1 linking device) supports up to four segments of H1.  The FFLD can support up to 16 Rx and 16 Tx connections per segment so a 4 channel FFLD could support upto 64 Rx and 64 Tx scheduled connections.

I have seen an issue with NI Fbus Config v3.1.1 where the software only supports 16 total connection per FFLD.... Hopefully this will be addressed in the v3.2 release??

The 1757-FFLD(C) firmware was updated to support more VCR connections per segment.  Originally it supported 16 Rx and 16 Tx VCRs per segment.  The new firmware supports 64 Rx and 64 Tx VCRs per segment.  So if you had four segments this would be 4 x 64 = 256 VCRs Rx and 256 VCRs Tx per FFLD.

Was NI FBus Config v3.2 released?  All I can find is v3.1.1.  Is v3.1.1. the latest release?  Is the limitation of 16 VCRs per FFLD going to be fixed in NI Fbus Config?

Hi Pmhamilt,

The latest version of Configurator is 3.2.1, which is released in early 2007. I am sorry that due to the schedule constrain, the limitation still exists in 3.2.1. (The problem was found at mid 2006, very close to the release date of 3.2). Currently, new version of NI-FBUS software is under development. I think the problem will be fixed in the new release.

Sorry for the inconvenience! I will inform you immediately if there is any update about the new release of NI-FBUS software.
