Connection of OUT_D and TRK_IN_D

Dear All,

I have a question about the connection between OUT_D parameter of DI block
and TRK_IN_D of PID block with NI Configurator ver3.2 ?
I would like to make a loop connection of Figure 6 "Parameters communicated for Single Loop
with Track and FF"of FBAP2 (FF-891 FS1.7). But I could not draw a line from OUT_D to TRK_IN_D
with configurator.
I want to know whether the tool has any probrem of strict type check or not.
OUT_D.VALUE is "__discrete_input_nd" and TRK_IN_D.VALUE is "__on_off_input_nd" in device description.

I did a test and succeeded to connect OUT_D.VALUE to TRK_IN_D.VALUE.
What kind of device are you using?

Dear Ryan,

It was Emerson DVC6000. I used a DI and PID function blocks in this device for a control strategy.
I used a PID of yamatake AVP304 device. I could not make a connection also.

The 2 parameters have different data types (OUT_D is u8 while TRK_IN_D is enu), so they cannot be connected - the data types MUST match strictly.
I tried 5900 Discrete Valve Controller. It's type is enu, so it matches PID block.

Dear Ryan,

I understand that the OUT_D.value type of DVC6000 is Unsigned8.  OUT_D.value of other devices are enumlate. Thank you so your helpful.
