Connection problem foundation fieldbus

We are trying to use the NI OPC server to access a HSE/H1 Linking Device connected on a separate NIC to a PC running Windows Server 2003. On the same machine we also have two more NICs with different network addresses. We cannot establish the communication to the Linking device unless we disable the other two NICs. After having established the communication we can enable the other two NICs again and everything works fine. Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong?

Hi Eurocon,

NI-FBUS 3.1.1 uses the 1st network connection by default to communicate with the linking device.
The existing software doesn't provide a utility to select NIC.

The workaround is:
If you have several NICs on the server, change the one connected to the linking device as the 1st one, aka the default NIC.
You may ask IT specialist about how to do that under Windows Server 2003.

Regards,
Frank
