DVCFisher_5000 Device DD File

Hello,

I am trying to access a DVCFisher_5000 device on my Fieldbus network.
I can view all the FB Blocks in the device when connected to one NI configurator (PC 1).

However, when I change the configurator to any other device (PC 2,3,4...), I can view the device on the network, but cannot access any of the Function Blocks.

To rectify this error; I copied the relevant DD files from PC 1 to the other PCs under "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-FBUS\Data\.....".
Then also, I could not access the FBs of the device.

I also tried downloading the relevant DD file for the device from the Internet, and placed it in "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-FBUS\Data...";
even then, I was not able to access the FBs of the device.

Kindly advice whether I am following the right procedures; and/or what are the other steps to be followed ?

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Hello,
Can you view the function blocks in Configurator? Is there any error message during device detection or function block access?

Please try the following step to set network parameters.
In Configurator, double click the link icon (interfaceN-N); In Network Parameters dialog, select Linking Settings(Advanced);Click "Press to see Suggested Values" to reset network parameters.

Hello Vince,

Thanks for the reply.

I can see the function blocks (partial) contained in the device (before defaulting the Network parameters); but I cannot use any of the contained function blocks to create a schedule because the entire parameters of the contained function blocks are not visible in the NI Configurator.

Defaulting the  network parameters also didnt give a detailed view of the contained function blocks.

Does the NI configurator pickup the DD information from multiple local paths OR does it refer only the information contained under "\National Instruments\NI-FBUS\Data" folder ?

Hello Manish,

NI-FBUS Configurator obtains DD information only from Data folder.

Which version of Configurator are you using on other PCs(PC 2, 3, 4...). Is it the same as the Configurator on PC1?

In Data folder of other PCs, please check the nifb.dct/nifb.ffo/nifb.sym files and make sure they are the same as the ones on PC1.

You can also try copying entire Data folder of PC1 to other PCs.
