I have NIFbus configurator installed but it wont start

Hello,

Remember me and all the hassle your software caused me trying to get past

the

stupid licence stage before I could start to use this extremely expensive

little device?

Well I'm trying to use it again for the first time in a long time and am

greeted by this as I open Configuration Manager:

Why???????

What should I do?????

I get into the same infuriating loop I got in when I first tried to use the

Configuration Manager software - I have the right licence which I paid a

huge

amount for and I cannot use it........again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please fix it.

Hi Ken,

There are 2 main forms of Fieldbus Protocol, H1 and High-Speed Ethernet

(HSE). The NI-FBUS Configurator that you have offers support for the H1

protocol, where the  NI-FBUS Configurator with HSE Support is technically a

different product with different price-tag. Please see the following page

I am really sorry for the inconvenience!

Could you please let me know which NI-FBUS product you have purchased? There are three products.

1. NI-FBUS Communications Manager (CM)
2. NI-FBUS Configurator
3. NI-FBUS Communications Manager with HSE support  (CM with HSE support)

NI-FBUS installer will install all of them by default.

Item1 - Communications Manager does NOT need activation. This software provides drivers for your NI-FBUS interface card and interfaces for accessing FF network. It is free and usually shipped with NI-FBUS hardware.

Item2 - Configurator and item3 - CM with HSE support need extra purchasing and activation. For Configurator, you can use the evaluation version if you did not purchase it. Evaluation version only support offline configuration. You need two separate serial numbers to activate them.

If you did not purchase Configurator, please just ignore the activation request and use the evalution version.

If you have already purchased Configurator, please use the serial number to perform the activation. If there is any trouble during activation, please send the serial number to fieldbus.support@ni.com, I will help you go through the activation process.
