Hello, I upgrated my NI Configurator version from 3.2 to 3.2.3. Now , when a FF device is coming through the bus which is imported per EDD the Configurator crashes. When the device is imported per a simple DD everything works fine. In Version 3.2 also EDD based devices work also fine. What is to do?How can I go back to version 3.2 because of the licensenumber?

Hello Peter,
Could you let me know the device model? NI-FBUS 3.2 and 3.2.3 use different DDS version. 3.2 support DDS 5.0 and 3.2.3 supports DDS 5.0.5.
It seems that the problem is on the different DDS version.
You can go back to 3.2 by simply removing 3.2.3 and install 3.2 again. 3.2.3 is a free upgrade, so these two version use the same license.

Hello Vince,
I did not know the DDS version.
What is DDS and where can I find the version?

Hi Peter,
Device Description Serivce (DDS) is an interpreter program provided by Fieldbus Foundation.
NI-FBUS software use DDS program to handle DD files.
NI-FBUS 3.2 uses DDS 5.0, NI-FBUS 3.2.3 uses DDS 5.0.5.

Hi Vince,
looking to my device & EDD, what does this mean?
The EDD was created by the Tokenizer 5.1.
When the DDS V5.0.5 does not work with this EDD, is there a possibility of an incompatibility between Tokenizer and DDS?
Are there other known problems?
Peter

The DDS version is the same as DD Tokenizer, so your EDD should work with DDS 5.1.
There exists the possibility that the problem is on the incompatibility between 5.0.5 and 5.1.
NI-FBUS 3.2.3, the latest version, supports DDS 5.0.5. The EDD created by Tokenizer 5.1 might not work well.
