I have a NIFBus configurator and a EDDL simulator demo device that came installed along with it.Anyone has any idea as to how to use it? Anyone has any idea how the new persistence data storage feature that comes with the enhanced EDDL works?
Appreciate the help.

Hi,
The EDDL simulator device installed with Configurator is a demonstration of EDDL features. It only works in offline mode. To use this demo device, please following the steps below.
1. Launch Utilities -> Add Interface Wizard to add one offline interface.
2. Launch Communications Manager and Configurator. In Configurator, select Window -> Device Type Window
3. In Device Type Window (Left panel of Configurator main window), select National Instruments -> 3201 - EDDL Simulator -> EDDL Simulator Device(R010101)
4. Drag EDDL Simulator Device to the offline link.
5. Double click ResourceBlock1 (RB) icon.
6. In the block dialog, there is a EDDL Demo with two submenus, Demo Dialog and Bar Graph. Select these two submenus to open the EDDL demo.
The demo page contains all the EDDL features NI-FBUS Configurator supports, including Graph, Chart, Gauge and Image.
The data showed in the EDDL demo is internally generated by Configurator and not related to any actual device.
Configurator also supports File feature, which is also called persistence storage. The device data can be saved into a file. Configurator can also load this file and show the data on display elements such as graph and chart.
The EDDL simulator device has a User Files menu beside EDDL Demo menu. Because there is no real data, the File menu does not work in the this demo. You can try this feature on any online device whose EDD supports File feature.
