Using NI 2.3.6 with a CN2FF linking device

I get the following error " open block ...fail error ... NIF err  com error...error code (-11) "  I can not get on line with the device, I am receiving data from the device. How do I clear the error? This is happening on two devices in the network.

NI-FBUS Configurator 2.3.6 is supported by Rockwell. You should contact them for this issue.

I have upgraded my software to NI V3.1.1 I still get the following errors with various SMAR devices using a Rockwell CN2FF linking device:

Read VFD List...Fail error- NIF_ERR_COMM_ERROR (Error Code=-11)

Open_VFD...Fail error- NIF_ERR_BAD_DEVICE bad device data (Error Code =-47)

I can go to the function block app, monitor mode, all data is good.  The system is up and running fine. The devices that I receive the errors on change every time I log on.  I have tested the network wiring and terminations , no problems were found.  What could be causing this?

                                Thanks

Do you mean you can read/write the device parameters in Configurator?

> "The devices that I receive the errors on change every time I log on"
What is "log on"? Do you mean that you restart the computer and log in again?

Do you get the error codes in Configurator or in your own software application?

I get the error codes in NI Config under the "Error Tab".  No, I can not write to the devices that show an error, how ever they seem to be operating normally in the network.  I connect to the network via a laptop, every time I connect to the same network the devices that show errors change.

Try to reset the network parameters.

I reset the Network Parameters, the problem got worse. All the devices seem to be operating normally in the network, does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of these errors? Thanks

Please send an email to fieldbus.support@ni.com with detailed description of your current problem, including the devices' behaviours, screenshots of any errors, screenshot of your configurator. What do you mean by "got worse"? please describe it in detail in the email.

I've had similar problems with NI Version 3.2 Communications Manager.  Continuous Power Cycling a device on the segment causes NI to write incorrect VCRs to the device and you will also get "Device returns inconsistent data" as well as the BAD_DEVICE error message. You have to write zeros to all the vcrs in the device to get it to come back and talk to NI Comm Manager.

Could you please send the detail description of this problem to fieldbus.support@ni.com? If convenient, please attache some screenshots which will help for analyzing.
Thanks.
