Hello Japs,

The following steps will help you to continuously capture the packages:
1. Launch NI-FBUS Monitor and select "Capture -> Settings" in the main menu;
2. Please refer to the attached image: select "Continuous capture when max reached" and then "Write to file" (need to specify the file name and location by clicking the "Browse" button);
3. Click OK to save settings and exit the dialog;
4. Start the capture;
5. Manually stop the capture when you need.

With the "Write to file" option selected, NI-FBUS Monitor writes captured data directly to the file specified in the field. If you select "continuous capture when max reached", the NI-FBUS Monitor writes data to the file until you stop the capture.

Hope it helps and please let us know if we could do more help for you!

Hello Josiane, thanks for your description. With the latest monitor version 3.0.1 it's now even possible to open a 146 MB Capture file that was produced over night (This did not work with a former 3.0.0.3022: Crashed with a message that it was tried to access the file behind its end). However, one thing that is left to fix even in the Vista-capable 3.0.1: An error message about a Windows API bug when drag-scrolling in a file with > 64 K size (See attached file). The message says this will be fixed in a future release, but it does not say if that means a Windows release or a NI-FBUS release. Since the message has been around for at least three versions of each, and starts loosing some of its humorous effect, I would like to ask for NI's plans on fixing this. Thanks Marten Hinrichs

Thank you very much for reporting this problem.

It is due to the limitation of a Windows component that we use to display the package information. When the number of rows exceeds 65535, there will be some problem.

We've recognized this big inconvenience for our customers and we will use some new component to resolve it. We will fix this problem in next release of NI-FBUS Monitor.

Thank again for your valuable feedback for us and helping us to improve our products. Please kindly let us know if you have more comments and requirements on NI-FBUS products.

Have a great day!
