I would like to contribute to this but although I am registered and logged in on the NI site, when I click to add a comment in the Idea Exchange I see a box stating 'You must be a registered user to add a comment on this article. If you've already registered, please log in. If you haven't registered yet, please register and log in.' If I try and enter a new idea I get a pop-up window requesting a username and password, and my login and password for this site are not accepted.
tmh - can you post a screenshot of what you are describing?
Thanks,
Laura

We are starting to see problems that should be addressed in some posting guidelines.

I was testing the edit functionality and you should be able to edit your idea after posting it. You have to click on the idea title so you are looking at the view where you can post comments. Above the title you will see "Idea Options". This will drop down with an option to Edit Idea. Can you check for that the next time you create an idea?
Well, I got a step further, but the forum is still throwing sticks into my spokes 😄
So I edit a new idea and try to post it, but it won't let me, claiming it needs at least one label. It already has a label!!! There is no way to submit the edit but I have not tried to add an extra nonsense label for example ;))

tst - I submitted the feedback to Lithium about making the comments much more apparent in the Ideas area and giving more options to configure the way users view ideas. I will let you know as I hear more about any changes they are making in the next version.
altenbach - The edit issue you reported is the same one I was having trouble with. I had hoped it only affected admins but obviously not! I have reported this as a serious issue for us.
Also, I moved that comment to be its own idea. It doesn't have a very good title though - any suggestions? I also added a sentence to the about section about submitting a separate post for each idea.
tmh - I'm glad things are working for you now. If you experience the problem in the future please take a screenshot and post it here.
smercurio - If the users have a LabVIEW suggestion, please point them to the LabVIEW Idea Exchange. All other product ideas should still be submitted through the product suggestion center for now.
Thanks everyone,
Laura

Looks like he started a new idea thread , so the duplicate with the bad title can be delete.

Hi Laura,
This is really a great tool! I have a quick suggestion. Maybe someone has already mentioned this, but here goes...
I think that idea authors should be allowed to edit their submission for an unlimited period of time. The reason that this is important, is that idea authors can refine the idea, based on feedback from commenters. This allows the idea to improve and become more consise over time, or to change based on new information, such as new LabVIEW feautures that might obviate the need for the new feature (perhaps it gets implemented!) or change it in other ways.
Note that this concept of being able to edit your post is very similar to the Stack Overflow site for Q&A, where both questions and answers can be edited by their original author, which allows allowing both the questions and answers to be refined and improved over time. The end result is that the content become much more valueable to everyone involved.
Thanks again to you and the NI team for this great tool! I've been trying to help by posting some ideas and spreading the word.
Cheers,
-Jim

For some reason, going to the ideas area pops a login box. This just started.

Found the problem:
You are linking to http://ni.stage.lithium.com/ni/i/idea.gif (which seems not public!), in the "about" area on the right.
