Annoying results when pasting from a website

When pasting e.g. a title from a web site the source formatting is applied in the edit box.

E.g.

Instrument Control with the USB Hardware Bus

I would like to have the option to select keep destination format or an option when selecting a piece of text to set it to the default font and font size.

Default font and size not visible, so I need to try multiple combinations each time (I don't remember after some time) I want to convert the formatting of pasted text back to the defaults.

Yeah, that is annoying, although I wonder if this is really more of a browser issue rather than the forums software. I usually just switch to HTML mode and delete the <h1> and </h1> tags so that

Instrument Control with the USB Hardware Bus

becomes

Instrument Control with the USB Hardware Bus

Ahhh... much nicer.

Thanks for pointing that out to me. Although it remains a bit annoying to have to edit the source before posting.

I also found that the default font can be set  in the preferences, so it seems that my default is Arial. But the default size is 10, which cannot be directly mapped to the xx-small to xx-large range.

Alternatively, you can also switch to HTML mode first, and then only the text will show up when you paste, no tags.

Wouldn't a 'paste special' just like MS word be wonderfull on your webbrowser.

Seems like "Edit as HTML" is the option to use when you only want to have plain text, but as might be expected you also loose the options to add an hyperlink and image. Which could also be possible in plain text. The editor options like insert hyperlink and image could result in a tagged text in plain text like the "Quote post" button does, instead of just removing them as options.
