Hi Ed,

Long time no see (or read..)

I was told the same thing yesterday.
So maybe I'm the culprit as I did not have all the updates leading to SP2. 😠

Apparently this "slipstream" install bypasses all these problems.. I'll try it and report the findings..
I may temporarily install LV and provide feedback as well.

As for my work machine which has SP2, it now runs fine. Outlook hasn't crashed in 2 weeks!!! (new record)

Many have observed a similar phenomena... It's as if XP "learns" after a new installation.
Boots slowly, crashes often, etc.. Then as it "matures", it gets better..

I might calm down and retry XP.. (not forgiving Uncle Billy.. 😠 )

Dear CC,

as native German I know the true story about the frog and the princess as was written down by the Brothers Grimm. And that's not the one adapted by Walt Disney. The part is as follows taken from the book "Children and house fairy-tayles collected by Brothers Grimm" from 1962 and translated by myself:

But as she laid in bed he (the frog king) came crawling and said: "I'm tired, I will sleep as you: take me in your bed or I will talk to your father". Then she got as cross as two sticks (very angry), took him and throw him with all her power on to the wall. "Rest in peace, you nasty frog".

But as he felt down, he wasn't a frog anymore but a king's son with nice and friendly eyes.

CC, I don't think a kiss will heal you.

Hi waldemar,
Do you mean that banging my head against the nearest wall would be THE solution ?

CC, if it doesn't work you must be a normal frog and not a frog execrated by a evil witch.
I never heard of a story that a normal frog can be metamorphosed into a king's son.
Sorry, but you need to stay what you are, a normal frog.

But don't be too sad look at me.

Coa everybody !

The weekly update of the List is here !
... in 2 parts, since I can't send files much larger than 20 Ko !

The enthusiast number rose last week from 367 to 407. Among the 41 newcomers were a bunch of "old" enthusiasts that had been missed in the NI database previous scan. My apologies to all of them. You can track their names because they have impressive positive scores in the "Evolution" column.
Additionally, minor adjustements have been made to take into account multiple loggins for some users (wiebe@caria and Vishi Anand).

Welcome to the new tadpoles, who entered only recently the Enthusiast level of 50 replies :
Jenk, CBRaoul, DavidD, TongY, Mike_T, Steven H., SanaaT, Russel G., KaiKratt, Steven Bird, Jabba, Marc Larue, nayisoe and Angel Olivares.

This week sprinters are :
Dennis, JLV and tst. Very conventionnal. However, the first challenger of the top trio is Sergey Krashnikov who just starts an ambitious swim over the pond...

Jumping to a different subject now : with over 1000 consultations, 147 contributions and 18 different contributors, "Enthusiasts 2" is probably the most active thread on the NI Discussion forum. Among the various subjects that have been approached :
complains about Microsoft, trans-sexuality and LabVIEW programming, stars and the Big Bang, coffee mugs, and fairy tales...
Means that we already have our "Coffe Shop". May be a better name could be "The Enthusiast's corner" ?
