Enthusiasts 2

> May be a better name could be "The Enthusiast's corner" ?

We have to be careful that this does not become elitist. It has to be a place where even newbies (=non enthusiasts) don't feel excluded. 😉

Some other ideas: Wiring Closet, Lounge, Stammtisch (For those with German background), Patio, Back Room, ...

About Enthusiasts11. Everybody can crank out serial posts to inflate the post count (not that this really happens here, even though CC accused me at one point ;)). One of the few parameters where I don't have direct control is the number of ratings. Since you did not mention it, I proudly announce my personal benchmark of passing Greg in this category. Over the years, he was probably the most influential presence here (and on info-labview)! 🙂

Stammtisch? I thought you want newbies to feel welcome...
I tought about "The Back Room" myself and then I saw you suggested it. Nice...
Since for some inexplicable reason, so many of you have a fixation with coffee, how about G Cafe? A bit unfair to CVI users, but who cares about them, anyway?
How about G Men? Or should we make that G people? Doesn't have quite the same ring.
The Block Diagram? Sounds like a bad bar.
Wire-free-zone? Nah...
G pond? CC would probably like that one.
Off work? I actually like that one...
Maybe one of its derivatives - No work here, Only fun and so on...
I'll try to think of some others.
BTW, does it matter? I was under the impression that the (terrible) names in the poll were the only options. Is NI aware of\open to these suggestion?

Coffee???

What's that?? We don;t have that in this country... 😞

Seems like you want to use the word "G-something"

Well G-wire does not sound good.

I like G-String... String as in wiring small wires 😄
Maybe tst would take offence to that one.. (dunno why doh!)

CVI users are good people... So call it G, call it C, call it U-N-Mee.. 😉
"who cares about them"????? -- yikes... 😠

For insane names, we could have "Wastelands"..

G-String as in Bach's "Air on a G String". That's good music.

The G Spot is sexy too....

If you are using FireFox, you can use my NI Forums searchbar plugin. I've recently updated it again so it will work with the new search engine.

Using the Abort button to stop your VI is like using a tree to stop your car. It works, but there may be consequences.

JLV - Wastelands... Sounds cool...
Ed - Sounds like a good reason to switch to Firefox (if it works. See the search engine thread and you can use the examples there to test it).

My FireFox searchbar plugin "should" work the same as the search box at the top of the forum pages and having "Discussion Forums" selected. The testing I've done has returned the same results from both.

I looked through the Search Engine thread and tested some of the problems others were having and it seems to work fine. As long as it doesn't get changed again, I think I'm OK.

Thanks Ed.

I shall try it.

I do use Firefox..

===== EDIT =====

Thanks tst,

Glad you liked Wastelands...
It's where our brainwaves endup at the end of a day staring at a bunch of wires on a 17" screen.

I use 21" screens, but some clients don't want to invest much $$ for their test engineers..
17" out-of-focus screens...

....sad...

...w-a-s-t-e-l-a-n-d-s...

--- I do like this edit feature ---

LOL... There is no limit to what a man (or woman, right tst) can do with an Edit feature...

😄 😄 😄

Time well wasted... in Wastelands...

JLV,

You know, some of us try hard to hide the fact that they can make 7 consecutive mistakes in three minutes using a system that even contains a spell checker. 🙂

Whenever you edit a post again, you can actually remove the current edit tags, they are part of the text. The only thing that will show is the newly generated last edit tag. I don't think that would be unethical. 😉

Hi guys

I sometimes visit this thread, to have a look at the nice excel-file which is provided by chilly charly (thanks for that work).

Although it is great to read all the discussions about various topics, I almost have no chance to find the latest enthusiasts file.

So - I would suggest to start a new thread just to post the excel-file. So that everyone can find it very easily. 😉
