I am not using LabVIEW VIs when posting in LabWindows board ;-)

Solved!

Hello,

let me start with a compliment: when posting there is some new text displayed (see below) which I consider quite useful. That's nice.

However, (as usual), everyone is assumed to use LabVIEW which may not be true in other forum boards. So I suggest to omit or adapt the last two lines in boards such as CVI 😉

Useful Information to Provide in Your Post
• All information necessary to troubleshoot the issue (including troubleshooting steps already attempted)
• Error number and/or detailed error message description
• Specific hardware, software, and drivers being used, as well as versions
• An attachment containing your code in the form of a VI or ZIP
• Applicable VI Snippets and screenshots

Hi Wolfgang,

Thanks for the feedback. The text can be customized for the board, and we're open to suggestions on this. We can remove those two lines and add anything else you may feel is valuable.

Thanks,

Hello,

this sounds very good; so what about (first iteration)

• An attachment containing your source code (relevant source code files *.c, include files *.h, UI files *.uir, possibly also the project file *.prj or *.cws but NOT the executable) in the form of a ZIP
• Applicable screenshots

I also added a line here about attaching source code: Help Us Help You When Posting New Topics

If I may add a suggestion, the Tips for posting code thread in Gestting started board should be updated the same way.

Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

Thanks for the suggestion, Roberto. Are the other tips that aren't VI specific you would want to add to the Tips for Posting Code document?

I added the following to the Tips for Posting Code document:

When uploading source code, attach your source code in the form of a ZIP

Include relevant source code files *.c, include files *.h, UI files *.uir, possibly the project file *.prj or *.cws
Do NOT upload the executable

Please let me know if there is anything else.

Thanks,
