There really are a lot of ideas now on the exchange. I think that some really good ideas get buried in the stack before some of us get a chance to see them.
Maybe it would be useful if there were a section under Active called "Random" or something that would show a page of random ideas. There probably should be some filters/rules such as it needs at least one kudos, has been viewed under a certain number of times in the last week, is at least n weeks old, is not currently listed in another Active section, etc.
A lot of Wikis have a feature that will show a random page. Just a thought.

I think that's an excellent idea. I know I've seen all the ideas because I went and read them all while the list was still small, and have kept up on reading all the new ideas and comments as they've come in. I think if anybody started following and reading through them now, it would be overwhelming because the list as grown so dramatically. I think there are a lot of ideas out there that have low kudo totals that should naturally be higher, but it is because they are old enough that the only people who had seen them have been following for a long time. I think that is why you see a number of duplicate ideas as well. A good idea comes up again, but the original new idea is long buried, and the new idea person either fails to search, or the search mechanism fails them in trying to find whether the idea already exists.

Interesting idea. I'll give some thought to whether or not this is possible with the current implementation. We did try to give some way for users to navigate ideas to read with the "View Ideas..." box in the right hand bar so that they could jump to just new ideas sorted by date or kudos.
