Is cross posting acceptible behavior?

I was just wondering if it is ok to post the same message in multiple groups to get more chances for a response. Is there a way to automatically have you message appear in multiple groups without copying and posting to each group individually?

Thanks in advance.

I'm interested to hear other reactions to this question, but my opinion is that you should pick the board that best fits the question and ask your question in only one location.

Users who have cross-talents tend to check multiple boards, and the one who can help you will most likely come across it if you put it in the most appropriate place.

What you normally see when people do post in multiple boards is that someone will answer it in one place and post a reply to the duplicate threads saying "This was answered here" and link to the other thread.

By all means, if you don't get an answer in one board and feel that another board would have been more appropriate, posting a second time is a valid option.

There is no automated means of posting to multiple boards simultaneously.

Thanks!

Molly is absolutely right !
Cross posting is something that should be strictly forbidden. I think no one here appreciates to spend efforts to give an answer to a problem that was already solved on another board !

I agree with Molly,

Cross posting or submitting multiple posts to the same question can be annoying, for 2 reasons:

1. Which post does one answer? And linking the 2 posts.
2. When people do a search and stumble onto the "unanswered" posts, they may not look further into the next post to actually read the answer.. Which is why I will place a link to the 2nd post.

That being said...

You may have a situation where you have a cross topic question which affects two products, such as LabView & TestStand. If you cross post, then link the two questions and go back and link the two answers. This would be greatly appreciated.

As for multiple posts to get an answer quickly, that's not the way to go..
