Hi,

thanks to all of you!

@Ben: Looking at your signature I still have a long way to go Smiley Wink

@Ray: Buying the beer is no problem at all (German beer is the best of all Smiley Very Happy) - but how to deliver?

Best regards,
GerdW

Hi Gerd,

It will give you a reason to show up @ NI-Week.. 😉

(I know I'm gonna get in trouble for saying this 😮 )..  Although I should support the stronger, tastier Canadian beers, I actually prefer the European ones, from England, Belgium & Germany.  You'll have to try the micro-brewlry beers from Quebec which have alcoholic contents reaching 9% to 11%.  Such names like "La Fin Du Monde" and "M@udite Bierre".

If you're in Canada during the winter, you may want to go X-country skiing.  What you do is place beers in the snow.  When you return, you start a campfire and drink the beer in front of the fire.  Very refreshing.  You shouldn't be driving afterwards...  It hits you later... 😉  usually faster...  😄

La Fin du Monde is a fantastic beer, and it's even sold in the US.  I like Don de Dieu better than Maudite though.

Interesting... I din't realize it made its way south.. 😮  LOL! 😄

Thanks Gerd,  I like the "polite" description of the beers..  I like them borderline frozen... That's why I put them in the snow. 😉

La Fin Du Monde - Produced in the Canadian brewery Unibroue, La Fin Du Monde uses choice hops and malts to produce a fruity malt taste, with a zesty bitterness rounding out this well-balanced strong ale.

Maudite - This rich, sweet malt is a strong bottle-conditioned beer, having a very spirit-like quality with a hint of medicinal about it.

All this talk is making me thirsty..  How about you, Gerd & Jeff?  Join me in a drink.  I don't have those in my stock, but do have Stella.  😄

Do you have these in Germany?

And in order to stay on topic!

All Hail to Gerd!  Our new Enthusiast and beer connaisseur!  :

I'll join you in that toast, because apparently my knowledge of beer has made me "proven" Smiley Very Happy

Congrats Gerd!

This thread, which started as a leaderboard, quickly got interesting as soon as the beer discussion came along.

A toast to you all!
