LeaderBoard - February 24, 2008

It looks like this LeaderBoard came just a tad too early to mark GerdW's transition to an Enthusiast!

He is actually our 13th Enthusiast - congratulations GerdW!

Hi Laura,

For some reason this attachment, while it says .csv wants to save as a .xls.  The Feb. 10 said .csv and saved as .csv.

The files that save as or open as .csv open fine in excel.  The ones that have the .xls extension, even though they are .csv, open with each row in a a single cell without paying attention to the commas.

I just wanted to say that however you saved the Feb.10 file, and a lot of the ones before it, I like better than how this file is saved.

Thanks,

Bill

Hi all!
This morning, from a PC with firefox, I was able to download correctly this file, as .csv.  Now, I'm connected with Internet Explorer (I don't have Firefox installed on PC I'm currently configuring Smiley Mad ), I have the .xls problem!

OK, I see the problem too.  Everything works great in Firefox, but in IE7 the file saves as an .xls.  I cannot think of anything differently I did when saving this file.  I'll try posting it again.

I've seen this same problem a few other places on the forum... I'd like to figure out how to report it to Microsoft but haven't had any luck  Smiley Sad

Hi!
I think it's something related to MIME types...

I use IE 7 at home and 6 at work.

I looked at the source for the webpage for this time and the last one to see if there were any differences there to explain it.  Nope.
