Hi Ray,
I've seen that the reply window takes a handful of seconds to fully load. I've usually already started typing. A few letters get in, then it freezes up. After a few more seconds, the screen does seem to jump up. I haven't seen the white window to the right that you mention. But overall, the reply window seems to take longer to load and sort of lets you start typing just enough to annoy me.

Hai JLV and Ravens Fan,
I too had uch behavior. And as Fan said i also haven't seen such white window to the right. Maybe its a browser issue.

I have some issues with the new forums:

Agree with all points from Ton.
Got the weird window, which placed the avatar at the top and a blank window to the right of it. See attached image. It's big, so I will not display it my reply.
I got it by starting to type a reply, the page refreshes and I hit the ENTER key, then the page switched to the one in the attached image which is the one I am replying from (better copy the text)...

I am looking at a normal reply window right now, which places the avatar and the window at the bottom. (In this reply) The window contains the avatar and text from whoever I am replying to...

WOW... got an error message and the text from the reply attempt came back... This is too weird!!! 😮
See attached error message

Hi Ray,
In the first image you posted - it looks like you hit the preview post button - the preview will appear above the editor. Do you think that may have happened? As for the error, were you trying to edit the message when the error occurred? If you are editing the message for longer than the allowed time, the error message is not working quite right so you can see a message like that instead of a more informative one. Lithium is aware of the issue and hopes to fix it soon.
smercurio - you have some sort of extra bar at the bottom of your browser popup that is obscuring the last row of emoticons. It looks like if you hit clear it could go away(?). I'm not sure what it is, perhaps a browser addon?
Ton - many of the issues you report have to do with the slow editor load time, I'll be sure to bring this up. Also, I have already filed suggestions to improve the image insertion popup, I'll do the same for the hyperlink insertion popup. When I open the link insertion window, the http:// is already highlighted and I don't have to click in the field - I just do CTRL + V and paste my copied URL - does that work for you? The problem is that after that, hitting enter does not insert the link, you actually have to click Enter.
Ben - I'll see about increasing the number of attachments to 5. For posts that you want to have more attachments, are they typically Nuggets? I wonder if Nuggets should go on ni.com/community, it would probably be easier than creating multiple posts for one Nugget. Here's an example of a CVI tip, you can see it has images attached. I've seen other documents with embedded images, so I'm not sure why they aren't in that tip. We can always still put it in the forum announcements and Nugget thread on BreakPoint. Just a thought.
Thanks everyone,
Laura

Yes, that's the Download Statusbar add-on for Firefox. The window popus are supposed to resize automatically, but they appear like I posted about 20-25% of the time. I wasn't really sure if this was a browser issue or something else, so I posted my observation in the event anyone else was able to replicate the issue. If not, then it's most likely a browser/add-on issue.
The issue I had noted earlier about the smiley window sometimes not responding to clicks does not seem to be tied to this though, as far as I can tell.
