In the first image you posted - it looks like you hit the preview post button - the preview will appear above the editor. Do you think that may have happened? As for the error, were you trying to edit the message when the error occurred? If you are editing the message for longer than the allowed time, the error message is not working quite right so you can see a message like that instead of a more informative one. Lithium is aware of the issue and hopes to fix it soon.
I doubt that I hit the preview button. The last time it happened, all I hit was the ENTER key. I was not using the mouse at the time. Maybe the TAB key got hit by mistake...
I got the error by selecting reply and simply typing it, adding an attachment and then submit. It occurred upon selecting submit. I doubt that it took me more than 2 minutes to type my reply and place the attachment.

Hi Everyone,
I am reporting the strange behavior that may be linked to the loading time for the editor. I'll keep you updated as I hear updates.
Thanks,
Laura

Laura F. wrote:Ton - many of the issues you report have to do with the slow editor load time, I'll be sure to bring this up. Also, I have already filed suggestions to improve the image insertion popup, I'll do the same for the hyperlink insertion popup. When I open the link insertion window, the http:// is already highlighted and I don't have to click in the field - I just do CTRL + V and paste my copied URL - does that work for you?
Yes, but for images the 'http://' isn't selected.

Here;s something that can be quite annoying: The edit window scroll position has a mind of it's own.
When typing in the edit box, and the current message is larger than the edit box (e.g. after some embedded images and quotings), it is difficult to add new text towards the end, because the edit box tends to automatically and without warning scroll towards the top, hiding the current type position below the lower margin.
Sure I can resize the edit box so everything shows, but that should not be necessary.

Hi Laura,
Something weird : Although I get this message, I'm still able to access the forums, read and post messages. Could you comment ?

Dittos that!
When going back and adding inages to a post, I feel like I am fighting the editor.

Seriously,
The editor keeps jumping around! It feels like somebody else is using the the keyborad and mouse. It becomes more noticable with longer posts while editing.
There is something wrong.

HI Laura,
The editor is being consistantly stupid. These steps should let you appreciate what we are dealing with.
Reply to your post here that has a copule of paragraphs of text.
1) Hit the "quote" button to quote yourself.
2) scroll to the bottom and type a couple of lines of text.
3) Go back up to your quoted text and highlight some characters to charge the font size and bold setting.
4) Scroll back down to type some more (make sure you cursor is still active at the bottom)
5) Scroll back up to check what you wrote.
Don't use the up down keys to scrool up and down, use the scroll bar on the right.
While you are doing the above, watch your screen closely and you will see the editor screen moving up or down with no rhyme or reason.
If it wasn't so annoying it would almost be funny its so bad.
