This is actually by design. There are a number of boards that we have that are not listed on the main portal page, as described
here.
The boards on the main page are mainly for technical support discussions. However, as we get more and more boards, such as NI Labs, linked from other parts of our website that are generating great discussions, we definitely have a need to provide a navigation path to these boards.
This is a project that I have started thinking about, but have not had the time to implement. I will be looking to get community feedback once I get closer to implementation.
