Sorry to keep prodding everyone for feedback, but I'm very excited to release these new features so the sooner we work things out the better! If we have a lot of ideas, I can set up another poll.
Kudos - should we keep this as the name or change it to something like "Stars" or "Stars to you"? Here's what that would look like:
Then after giving a Kudo or Star to a message you would see something like this:
Once we decide on whether or not to keep Kudos, then we can talk about the name of the leaderboards.
Keep in mind that these names will only apply in English - other languages may use a different concept. If you are interested in another language, let me know and I can look up what it would be for you.
Thanks,
Laura

"Stars to you" is somewhat misleading, because I would assume it's only a single kudos star per unique user click. The plural is thus incorrect.
Kudos is singular (there is no "kudo" :)). I would just go with "Kudos!" (no translation needed in any other language).
I would prefer the icon to be less high, but wider. It should fit on a single text line. The number could be on the right or left.

You're right, it should be only "Star" and not "Stars" because you get only a single entity (star or kudos) with the click.
Lithium uses "Kudoed" which really isn't a word either (like kudo doesn't exist) in the sense of "Top Kudoed Authors" and "Top Kudoed Messages". When they released the feature to me they said they coined a new term 😉
If the icon was to fit on a single line, I don't think you would be able to see the star inside of it. Also, the text won't fit underneath it.
Thanks,
Laura

By a small majority, Kudos is favored to be the name of our new rating system. I am still collecting feedback, so please post if you have a suggestion!
Thanks,
Laura

I just want to raise my voice for international users who don't have a localized forum. I think "Kudos" is not a very common word for non-native speakers, while probably everybody knows the meaning of "star". That's just my personal impression but maybe other international users can comment on that.

Jochen, for my case you are right.
Just looked it up in a dictionary to see what the translation is in Dutch, never heard it before.
I has a funny sound to me so that is why I like it without knowing the meaning. I thought it was a name for something.
