I have tested with the language set to Italian, although my browser/OS isn't set to Italian.

Do you encounter the same behavior when using a machine on a network outside of your office?

I am now at home and the (mis)behavior happens also here. The PC is the same laptop I use at work, though. I'll try to locate a different PC where to try on.

Hello,

I see a logoff, when following a certain link.

My procedure is as follows:

On a new day I start browsing on: forums.ni.com (no https) and I am logged in (I see my name in both places according to picture in message 95).

Then I open from the left tree 'LabVIEW' forum, 'Breakpoint' forum and 'Feedback on NI Community' forum, each in a new browser tab. In each tab I am still logged in, I see my name, date format is in my chosen format (2017-05-23), bold topic titles for unread messages and the number of new unread messages right of topic title. If I follow a 'New' link, I see the first unread message. All is fine.

But:

On the 'LabVIEW' forum if I open Browse LabVIEW NXG Topics (https://forums.ni.com/t5/forums/filteredbylabelpage/board-id/170/label-name/labview%20nxg) in a new browser tab, the mess starts. Although I see my name in both places (message 95), the date format is wrong (05-23-2017) and all topic titles are bold (I am sure I read some topics already and some topics should not be in bold). If I now follow another link I am logged off (Red 2 in message 95 shows 'Log In'), It does not matter from which tab I follow the link.

I can click 'Log In' and I am back again. Now I can not repeat the procedure to get logged off. But I can repeat on a new day.

I am on Win7 64, using Firefox 54.0.1

This also happens to me in the same exact manner as you! I may add that the sequence can be reproduced provided I close the browser (Chrome) being logged in: the next time I access your link I get kicked off.

If I may add, I feel the event is growing up during time: several times I find myself logged off on various threads; the last one I found is the link provided by altenbach in this post

Hello Roberto,

thank you for your message. If I close the browser (being logged in) I can reproduce the sequence too.

Edit: The link provided by Altenbach logs me off too.

Another example of link that kicks me off: this is the situation when I follow the link provided by Wolfgang in this discussion

Ulib, can you test it to see if it gives problems to you too?

Hello Roberto,

yes, following the link provided by Wolfgang logs me off too.

I did some additional test.

- I saved the link as shortcut on my desktop.

- Then I closed Firefox (I am logged in)

- If I open the shortcut, I do not get logged off

Really strange.

To those of you being logged out when clicking on certain links, we will need you to provide a HAR file for further investigation.

Below are the steps to get the HAR file, if you are unfamiliar with the process.

  1. Start a new session in a private/incognito browser.
    • This will ensure cookies/cache are cleared.
  2. Open up the Chrome Developer Tools window.
    • This can be done by going to Chrome Menu > More Tools > Developer Tools or using Ctrl+Shift+I.
  3. Now from the browser window, go through your typical steps to reproduce the issue.
  4. When this is done, go to the Network tab in the Developer Tools window and right click > Save as HAR with content.
  5. Send the HAR file to me via email (community@ni.com). Do not attach publicly.

If you cannot reproduce the issue in a browser with cookies/cache cleared, then feel free to send the HAR file from your standard use browser.

UliB - what is the locale or language setting for your web browser and machine?

Thanks,

Lili
