This morning I had a few notifications, looked at them and the new notification indicator disappeared as usual.
A few pages later, it told me I had 99+ new notifications (Well, a billion is arguably > 99, thus my subject line ;))
I clicked on the notification icon, but there was nothing new.... Obviously some simple math might be off somewhere.... the 99+ has now disappeared again.

I have seen this at least three times today. Once my Notification Feed showed everything as new. Then two other times I saw the 99+ notifications in the header from another page. A single refresh cleared it out.

Not sure if it is related to the notifications going haywire, but this morning I made a post and my avatar was a default. A refresh cleared it and I haven't seen it again yet.

Another data point: twice in the last few days I've seen the notification banner with 69 in it.

I've seen that several times too (yesterday). Sometimes a refresh fixes it, sometimes not.

Sometimes I even get both versions on the same page!

I repeatedly got 99+ notifications indicated, and then nothing when I go to my notifications.
I also repeatedly got 0 notifications indicated, and then all previous notifications marked as new when I go to my notifications.
