No, you are the only user with the username "X.".
And just to be 100% sure -- this is the type of URL you are grabbing:
I don't think Safari has a similar hover over -> preview URL like Firefox does, but perhaps you could test in another browser so a screenshot could be provided similar to mine above.

I did something stupid out of desperation and tried "Reset" in the Linear Option page of the Settings and that seems to have fixed the problem in Chrome:
Note added: however, it still does send me to the first post in the thread.
However, this still doesn't work in Safari.
For instance, this link to a 8 page-long thread:
reads (Copy Link):
h*t*t*p*s://forums.ni.com/t5/Feedback-on-NI-Discussion-Forums/Comments-Questions-on-New-Layout/td-p/3325920/jump-to/first-unread-message
and yet sends me to the first post:

The best test would be on a topic you know you've read from beginning to end, and now you know there is a new post you haven't read yet.
Is that what you were doing in the examples provided? Could you test in a board that isn't the Feedback board?

As you can see, the 8-page thread link is in plain text, meaning I have read all posts (poor me).
If I go to the IE forum and select the 4 page thread:
I land on the first post.
The website is VERY unresponsive BTW (several seconds after each link selection).
Edit: OK, I realized this is not exactly what you suggested. Why don't you add a dumy post to the thread above, so that we are exactly in the situation you are mentioning?
Edit 2: Regardless, I would expect to be sent to the last post even in a thread I have completely read. Or am I mistaken in assuming this is the expected behavior?

There are several bugs in the Idea Exchange (which you have pointed out yourself) so I don't think that is a fair test right now. Could you try on the LabVIEW board? http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/bd-p/170

OK, so would you mind adding a post to this thread, which I made sure I browsed all pages of?

Yes please. Or at least make it behave in a way that illustrates the nature of the notification. That is, if someone commented on a thread go to first unread. If the notification is because someone kudoed your post, probably go to that particular post when it's clicked.

Yes, that makes sense. I'll be sure to clarify when the enhancement is logged.

The notification thread never showed post activity, just kudos and accepted solution activity. I am not sure if it also should show new posting activity.
However, I cannot see a way to notice if there are new notifications or PMs unless I click on my name to get the popup window. I think these two states should automatically show next to the name every time a number is >0. No click required. Am I missing something?
