Not that I can help you, but two questions two for you to help Molly when she gets back - Is this Firefox or IE? Is this happening all the time?

Sorry about the firefox question. I must have confused you with Johnner. Anyway, the other question is still relevant as well as whether the location in the screen matters.
BTW - it's nice to see that people rate 5 stars for attempts to help even where you have no knowledge about the subject.

Hi tst,

I'm running IE in XP and yes its all the time. I think its a recent problem, probably when the Edit option was added.

You must have some secret fan(s) that follow you around in this forum.

Hi, I'm Molly's replacement while she's gone...

Interesting question -- I can't reproduce this behavior, and I'm also running IE on XP. I've tried setting my screen resolution to anywhere from 800x600 to 1400x1050, and I've also tried switching the Text Size parameter on my IE from medium to smallest to largest. Nothing would crop my message options menu.

Can you give us any more system information that might be useful (such as your screen size and text size setting), or anything else that you think may be relevant? In turn, I will have this question raised when we talk to Lithium (the discussion forums software provider) next time in hopes that they've seen this before and know how to fix it.

Oh, and just for reference, the options you seem to be missing are "E-Mail This Message to a Friend" and "Report to Moderator". Not that this info helps you much... 😞

Thanks,
Boris

hi boris,

I'm currently using an NT system which is running IE 6.0. The screen set to 1024x768 and I can seeing the missing menu options.

When I get the chance later I'll let you know what the setting's are on the PC I reported the problem.

Thanks, Ray. I'll take your feedback and see if anyone else has seen this. As I said, personally I can't reproduce it here (although I'm having trouble finding an NT system any more, or a system that would support resolutions up to 1900x1200...)

If anyone else out there is running into the same problem, please leave your troubleshooting information here... you know how that goes, the more users the higher priority...

Thanks,
Boris

Ray, I would suspect a very specific issue with your laptop model. Have you checked the "Quickset" software utility?

(Quote from this Dell 8600 review: ... For our middle-aged eyes, menu text and toolbar icons were too tiny to see comfortably at Windows' standard settings.
Dell anticipates this complaint with a handy QuickSet software utility, which combines detailed adjustment of power-saving options with a couple of slightly larger settings for desktop icons and program title bars and menus, and you can use Windows' display settings to change fonts and toolbar icons from 96 to 120 dpi for bigger viewing.
)

You might also check if there is a new video driver available.
