But I do notice something odd with the forum screens with the compatibility mode off. Things don't line up properly across the message listing with some numbers shown higher than they should be and some lower.
I can confirm this behavior. Another fix is to resize the window smaller then larger horizontally, and things seem to line up again.

Thanks for the report - I'll send it in. Unfortunately I can't reproduce but I do feel like I've noticed that before so maybe I've changed some setting since then.
Thanks,
Laura

This problem with the Post Edit Window is a b****y nuisance. But I have found a way of reducing its effects which is to click in the Attachments control then click back into the Post Window. By doing this it reduces the time I have to wait before I have a cursor to continue editting.

Here is a better Example where having compatibility mode turned off in IE8 causes a misalignment problem. This misalignment it a bit more than just a minor nuisance as the number are now on different lines. Jack's tip of slightly resizing the window does cause the numbers to snap where they belong.
Now this leads me to another question I'll have to test out. Right now my IE8 window is a window (not maximized to full screen), though it is sized to fill up the screen (22" widescreen monitor). I wonder if my IE8 window was set to be maximized, would the misalignment still occur.

This is a real pain. I have even had partial replies posted before I was finished due to what key strokes I did before I caught that it had happened.
Clicking anywhere outside of the text input window and than back where I was typing get me back faster. Like what Ray Farmer said.
Any update on the problem?

Thank you for the update. I will continue to work with our forum vendor to determine what the root cause of the issue is so that we can get resolution. I have reproduced the issue and will hopefully get it raised to a higher priority.
I apologize for the inconvenience.

Laura
