Search strategie before you post

A lot of questions in the forum treat the (nearly/exactly) same subject.
Thats why you normally have to search before you post.

BUT the default search range is only 7 days.

RFD: If the 7day search has no match a search is done automaticly in the next range (until ALL) and the number of results is offered.

Henrik -

This is an interesting suggestion.  I think we are going to change the default back to "anytime" in our next upgrade.  I'm hoping it happens this quarter, but can't promise anything on timelines yet.

They had set the default to 7 days for performance reasons in larger communities, but they have worked on improving the performance so it shouldn't be a problem moving forward.

Thanks!

And don't forget to change the 90 days default that you get when using the search boxes inside a page of the forum and the 7 days default which appears for the advanced search. I would say that this should be the default and not come only after getting no results for reasons we have already discussed in the past - most likely, the good answers are not within this time frame.
