As Altenbach pointed out here W a t c h your mouth, apparently there are some new spam prevention filters in place that make legitimate communication within the forums difficult.

I agree that blocking these common words is misguided.
There needs to be more intelligence, for example the presence of links and such should be considered. Also the poster profile should be taken into account, profiles with few posts and younger than a few month should get more scrutiny.
A post should get a a spam score that does not rely on single words. Similar to Bayesian filtering used in e-mails.
Hopefully this can be tuned in the future. (Is soccer a block word? apparently not :D)

Hi all,
We blocked the words "stream" and "watch" over the long weekend when there was less moderation because of the aggressive spam attack on the community. These words were prevalent in almost every spam post. The forums did not get attacked as aggressively and I've lifted the moderation.
I agree that this was not ideal, but given the circumstances we found it the best temporary solution over the long weekend.

Hmm, now that "long weekend" is over since 5 weeks and we still can't stre_am or wa_tch in the forum?
How should we help on issues on network str_eams, which are the official name of that LabVIEW feature???
Being angry because I also just run into that word blocking mechanism while writing a post...

Ah I didn't see this thread earlier and posted already elsewhere.
Funny thing is trying to respond to an Idea Exchange idea with the word w-a-t-c-h in the topic. The thread is essentially locked......

Since 3 months? Really. I only noticed yesterday......

Well, we still can't w-a-t-c-h videos provided by NI. Atleast we cannot talk about that topic in the forums...
Hi Jordan, when will this "long weekend" end?

Hi all,
The "watch" and "stream" filter has been removed as it is now blocking more legitimate replies than it is spam. If this ratio changes, we will have to enforce the filter again. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Look at the tags applied by the spammers to their own posts...
