Why cant I paste anything into the text window any more? I am using IE 7.0 (7.0.5730.13C0)

After reading this...
I may have seen the same thing when trying to copy a SR number from an e-mail to paste into a post yesterday. I WAS expecting a dialog box asking me if I wanted to allow the acess but saw nothing. After about three tries I just typed the number and did not think more of it.
may be the same?

Hi Ray -
I don't know, this still works as expected in IE8. Why are you using IE7, is it required? With the release of IE9 it seems that many websites will stop testing for IE7 unfortunately.
What are you trying to paste into the editor? URL, text from a web page, text from somewhere else...
Thanks,
Laura

Laura,
Unfortunately that is what the company uses where I am working at the moment. I know this used to work and we haven't changed IE for a long time. I'll try on my home PC later which is using IE8.
Oh by the way my text body window stated jumping up and down while doing this edit.

I've seen some weird (temporary) cases, for example when ctrl+v suddenly did not work, but "right-click..paste" was still working. Also, when I was pasting the comment here, notice that the last line containing the date (i.e. the line containing May 27, 2011) moved to the top of the quote, while it was at the botton in the original location (probably soem extra html got dragged along, I have not investigated).
(This was in Chrome.)

Thanks for the extra information - I've reported the issue.

Is this still happening? Does the behavior change depending on what you are copying? For example, can you copy a URL from the address bar, text from another web page, text from a text editor, etc?
Thanks,
Laura

Hi laura,
I can not paste into this window from any source.
I have still to try from my system at home which runs IE8 (i'll try remember to do this tonight)
